Tips For Better Flavor
- Use a mix of spices like cumin, paprika, and garlic powder for an authentic taste.
- Cook the chicken on medium-high heat to get a nice char without drying it out.
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the chicken with yogurt, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin seeds, coriander powder, chili powder, chili flakes, chaat masala, and oregano. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Step 2
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, add chopped garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Then add the marinated chicken and cook for 10-15 minutes until it’s nicely cooked through.
Step 3
Toss in the chopped tomatoes, capsicum, and onions. Stir everything together and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Turn off the heat and set it aside.
Step 4
Heat a griddle or pan with about half a teaspoon of oil. Toast the pita or shawarma bread on both sides until golden and slightly crispy.
Step 5
Place one piece of the toasted bread on a baking dish, spread mayonnaise over it, then add the chicken mixture. Sprinkle some cheese on top, then add the second piece of bread. Spread tomato paste over it, add more cheese, chili flakes, oregano, capsicum, and olives.
Step 6
Bake everything in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes until the cheese melts and everything is heated through.
Step 7
Serve it hot and enjoy your delicious wrap!
