Tips To Improve This Recipe
- Sauté mushrooms until they are golden brown to enhance their natural sweetness.
- Add a splash of white wine or broth to deglaze the pan and boost the sauce’s depth.
Step 1
Bring a pot of salted water with a little oil to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook until it’s almost done, then drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large pan, melt some butter with a splash of oil. Toss in the chopped garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
Step 3
Sprinkle in the cornflour and stir it around for a minute to cook out the raw taste.
Step 4
Add the mushrooms to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Pour in the milk and let it simmer gently for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens a bit.
Step 6
Add the cooked pasta back into the pan along with chili flakes and oregano. Give everything a good mix to combine and warm through.
Step 7
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve up and enjoy!
